This piece was created as a unique resume to enlist/pitch new project management endeavors in the mid 90’s. It is essentially a 3D resume. The wooden “tags” (as I call them) that stand up within the bottom of the box are individually engraved with words that are broken down into nouns and adjectives that at the time were to share personal & professional qualities. There are a total of 53 tags – 42 adjectives, and 11 nouns (various capacities I had served in up to that time).
The tray resting on the top of the tags was conceived to portray what might be a top tray in a tool box – holding various items such as a few nuts & bolts, a few washers, a couple of wrenches, and some writing items. The tray also includes a booklet labeled – “Nuts & Bolts Promotional Tool Box Plans”. This booklet contains the design drawings.
In order to open the tool box one needs to unscrew the 4 red Finland Color Phenolic Birch Plywood hexagonal screws (2 on each side), and then lift the top straight up by the oversized bolt handle atop.
The tool box is supported by height adjustable stainless steel glides. A custom fit corrugated cardboard case is available for safe transportation.
